A What? Yep, seed Sprouter!
Things to know about seeds
- Our creator decided to place inhibitors in every seed that the earth’s plants create.
- If you eat too many of anything you will get sick. (This is letting you know that you must move on so you do not kill off that species.)
- Soaking seeds to remove these inhibitors (poison), before eating is important.
- Allowing a seed to sprout allows the inhibitors to be removed and if allowed to grow to a predefined state, then eaten, you are consuming condensed vitamins and minerals.
- The government to help you (not really, but that is what they will say) have started radiating seeds and or steaming them. Both will cause the seed to not grow or sprout. Finding raw seeds that are steamed or radiated is almost impossible. Years ago salmonella was supposedly discover on a branch of almonds, and this started the process of steaming and radiation. You must go directly to the grower to get seeds.
- If the seeds do not sprout because of steaming and or radiation, then are you removing the inhibitors from the seed when soaking the seeds? I believe you are not!
Semi Manual Sprouters
- I’m hesitant about recommending the EasyGreen Sprouter.
- However it is the best Sprouter on the market that can be bought.
- I had and have to replace the mist generator, about $80.00 US, about every nine months.
- I bought the Tribest Freshlife 3000 automatic sprouter, thinking it would be better.
- The Tribest uses the same water to keep sprouts wet, until you dump and refill.
- The EasyGreen Sprouter always uses fresh water to keep sprouts wet.
- I have learned to carefully separate the failed mist generators for the EasyGreen, and clean the rust off with vegetable oil then oil with vegetable oil or food grade grease and reseal.
- Once your mist generator starts to not spin, immediately take apart, clean and lube with vegetable oil or food grade grease.

The EasyGreen Sprouter
This has been a wonderful sprouter, however about every nine months the mist generator motor will lock up because the motor sits on top of water. The water will rust the motor to the point that it will no longer turn creating an issue that you have to buy another mist generator from the company. EasyGreen knows of this issue, however have not been able to resolve this issue.
Note: I recall a parent of a friend of mine had a few of these EasyGreen sprouters and the motors locked up on them in the early 80’s. I did not recall this issue until I bought one and the mist generator went bad about 9 months later. As long as the warranty is good, EasyGreen without question will send you a new mist generator. I did this a few times until warranty was up. Now I seperate mist generator, clean, and lube about every 9-10 months.

Other methods worth mentioning
- There are other ways to manually sprout.
- Search for seed sprouter and you will find all kinds of round, square and rectangular trays.
- I prefer to have a sprouter that has a water reservoir and on a timer to water for me so i do not have to remember to mist the seeds every few hours.
- In the begining we used cloth or chesee cloth over a glass Jar.
- I found an example here:
